Customs declarations move fast, but the documents behind them rarely do. Invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and other trade paperwork are often messy, inconsistent, or simply missing key information. That is why both customs teams and logistics providers keep looking for smarter ways to prepare declarations without drowning in manual work.

Customaite was built for exactly that. You upload trade documents, our AI extracts the relevant customs data, structures it clearly, and helps you export a clean proposal into your declaration software. The point is simple: less typing, fewer corrections, and more time for the expert decisions that actually matter.

But extraction alone is never enough.

Trade documents often lack the full detail required for a compliant declaration. So from day one, Customaite has supported enrichment, letting teams complete and correct extracted data using trusted sources. We think of enrichment in two parts:

• Internal enrichment: using your own master data to fill gaps or fix mismatches, such as party data, goods locations, and especially product data
• External enrichment: adding authoritative outside information, such as vessel data and compliance measures

Internal enrichment has always been a strength. Now it is getting a major upgrade.

Introducing the product data management UI

Product data is the engine room of declaration preparation. It powers HS code mapping, links internal product codes to classifications, and keeps descriptions, values, and pricing consistent across the team. Done well, it saves hours and prevents late-stage surprises.

Until now, maintaining product master data often meant Excel files, support tickets, and waiting on IT. That created delays and left declarants relying on outdated or personal spreadsheets.

With the new product data management UI, that changes.

Customs teams can now manage product master data directly inside Customaite:

• upload and maintain product files independently
• add, edit, and delete product entries instantly
• bulk import large catalogues in minutes
• share one controlled dataset across the whole team

The result is real ownership and transparency. Declarants work with shared, up-to-date product data in the same place they prepare declarations.

This is a milestone in how Customaite is evolving. We are not just extracting and enriching data. We are enabling teams to manage it.

What comes next

There is still a highly manual step in many workflows: adding legal measures, conditions, and regulatory obligations after exporting into declaration software. Legal data enrichment is the next big topic on our roadmap, helping teams pre-fill regulatory fields easier, faster and with more confidence.
