Straight from Customaite Connect: what customers, partners and experts are telling us

Looking for honest customs automation software reviews instead of another vendor brochure? Every year, Customaite Connect brings our customers, partners and the wider customs community together in one room. This year we grabbed a few minutes with five of them, a customer running customs for a global logistics group, a long-time customs consultant, a partner software provider, and more. And asked them one simple question: what do you actually think of Customaite? 

Here's what they said, unfiltered.

"It standardized how our teams work" — Timo Zoetmulder, APL Logistics

Timo heads up the customs department for APL Logistics across EMEA, based in Rotterdam. His team is rolling out Customaite across the Netherlands, England and Germany.

"It's brought standardization to the processes we run with our clients, and it's increased the efficiency with which my teams can complete their declarations."

On the event itself, he was equally direct: interesting conversations, and a good excuse to catch up with people from other companies. Will he be back? "If I get invited again - absolutely."

"The perfect moment to meet each other" — Wim Gijbels, H.Essers

Wim runs the Forwarding & Customs business unit at H.Essers for Belgium and the Netherlands. His team has been doing customs for 30 years, but the post-COVID growth spurt broke the old model.

"We had a lot of new clients coming in, and we simply couldn't find declarants anywhere. That's when we came across Customaite, the perfect moment for both of us. We've completely reshaped the way we work so we could keep up with the company's growth."

This was Wim's third Customaite Connect, and he keeps coming back on purpose: "You get to see how other customers are using the product. You learn things, you take ideas home with you." Next year? "Absolutely, no question."

"A new player focused on getting workflows right" — Pieter Haesaert, customs consultant

Pieter has spent years working at the sharp end of digital customs. As an independent expert, his read on Customaite carries some weight.

"Customaite is a genuinely new player in the customs software landscape. One that's really focused on improving workflows and figuring out what AI can actually do in customs."

His take on the event: a good mix of Customaite's own team, customers, and colleagues past and present, all in one place. "It's community-building, really." He'll be back next year - no hesitation.

"I found what I'd been missing" — Devi Loganathan, founder of Eaze Customs

Devi has spent time building her own customs communication tools, so she knows exactly what a clunky interface feels like. That made her reaction land differently.

"What I was trying to build - what I felt was missing - I found it already there in Customaite. A genuinely interactive, simple, user-friendly interface. I'm impressed. Really good work by the whole team."

She also called out the hospitality at Customaite Connect as some of the best she's experienced at any industry event, and is already looking forward to next year's edition.

"It makes life a lot easier for our shared customers" — Shanna Molenaar, Stream Software

Shanna works in customer service at Stream Software, one of Customaite's technology partners. Since Stream and Customaite serve a lot of the same customers, she sees the partnership from the inside.

"Customaite is a really handy tool. Because we're partners and share a lot of the same customers, it's great for them to use it alongside our software, it makes filing declarations a lot easier."

On the event: friendly people, good energy, well-organized agenda. "If I'm allowed back, I'll definitely be there."

The common thread

Different roles, different countries, different reasons for being in the room, but the same message kept coming back: less manual chasing, more standardized workflows, and a product that actually gets used, not just bought.
